Jasaan, Misamis Oriental is known to be a town replete of falls and resorts. Mostly of the resorts are easily accessible and conveniently located. And we got the chance to spend our short weekend in Basamanggas Resort and had a hop in Twin Hearts Resort just to have a swim in their cold water falls.
Going to these two resorts is very easy. From Cagayan de Oro, go to Gusa Eastbound terminal and tell the driver to drop you off to the jeepney terminal bound for Jasaan. Actually, you can even locate it yourself hence a lot of barkers will be shouting where their jeepney are bound for. So no worries about that and fare only cost P25/person – CDO-Jasaan. Just also inform your driver or conductor to drop you off to the highway going to Basamanggas Resort. From the highway, you can take a walk going in to the resort; it’s approximately 5mins walk, very very near indeed.
Since Twin Hearts don’t have a hotel we settle on staying at Basamanggas Resort for a night. For P1,600/ night with 2 single beds, aircon, local channel tv, and no hot and cold shower bathroom we then avail the deluxe room.
Basamanggas Room Rates
P2700/day – suite, 1 double bed and 1 single bed
(complimentary breakfast for two)
- Hot and cold shower
P1,700/day – executive, aircon w/ 1 double bed and 1 single bed
(complimentary breakfast for two)
P1,500/day – deluxe aircon room w/ 2 single beds
P1,300/day – standard aircon room with 2 single beds
P1,000/day – economy aircon room w/ 1 double bed
P250/day – charges for extra person/extra bed
They have 3 swimming pools with slides in the 2 pools. You can also sing your heart out in the videoke area, and of course have a good meal in the Hotel Resto. But then we opted to have our dinner in the town proper of Jasaan. The resto is much laid back though the price is competing with the more establish restaurants in the City. Overnight stay in the picnic huts of the resort is also allowable with corresponding fees. Swimming pool is open til 12midnight.
Early morning, we went to Twin Hearts Resort for a short swim. A lot of “habal-habal” (single motorcycle) awaits outside Basamanggas Resort going to Twin Hearts and Kahulugan Falls, for only P10/person. It’s a very short ride from one resort to the other so no worries in the transportation. Twin Hearts Resort I believe is a government own, it is not a so-called first class resort but then the water is very very good. Fresh flowing water from the falls, it is very cold and the scenery is very nice. Big rocky area with small falls around it. It just needs a bit of maintenance and improvement to make it look more inviting.
So, for this get-away it was a so-so..Not highly recommended but can be a good get-away for a low cost.
