One of the newest beach resort in Misamis Oriental is Blu Sands Resort in Initao. Approximately a 45mins drive from Cagayan de Oro City.

I had the chance to visit the resort during my daughter’s 15th birthday celebration on this month – July of 2016. I heard a lot of good reviews in the resort and of course I wanted to experience it personally and so I decided to celebrate my daughter’s birthday in their resort and besides it is the nearest decent resort from our place.

I booked our beachfront cottage 3 days ahead from the date of her birthday to be able to get a good cottage that can accommodate the number of our expected visitors. The reception/telephone operator was accommodating enough to answer all our queries. And I’ve learned that:

P200 / head entrance fee (including swimming)

No corkage for food, even on lechons (this is awesome)

P100/case corkage for softdrinks, P200 per bottle corkage for hard drinks

If staying/checking-in overnight, no need for entrance fee

For more info on their rates: check their website.

Since the place is still very new, the place still looks bright and clean. Hopefully they can maintain the cleanliness especially the toilets/comfort rooms. The beachfront is not rocky and also very clean. You need to clean up yourself before entering back in the swimming pool. Oh by the way, don’t ever dare to pee in the pool (besides, that’s so gross!!!) because they have urine detector 🙂 . The open cottages are covered with screens, that can prevent from flies in coming in.

The resort also has water sports available for rent with corresponding rates.

Blu Sands Resort

Overall, yes! I recommend this resort that it is worth visiting.
